Everything you need to know about the 2026 World Cup in Philadelphia

The biggest event on planet earth is happening this summer in our home country of USA. Canada and Mexico will partner alongside the US to host the FIFA World Cup. Starting on June 11, 16 different cities will host World Cup matches including the first ever US capital, Philadelphia. Philadelphia will play host to 6 World Cup matches including a game in the Round of 16 on July 4th. A patriotic date in a patriotic city. You can't write the script any better.

June 14 - Côte d'Ivoire vs Ecuador (Group Stage)

Philadelphias first game will be on Matchday 4. It will feature Africa's Côte d'Ivoire and South America's Ecuador. This game will be played on a Sunday at 7pm EST. Some notable players that will be featured will include Franck Kessie, Guela Doue, Amad Diallo, Yahia Fofana, and Nicolas Pepe on Ivory Coast's team. Some notable players on the Ecuador side include Moises Caicedo and Enner Valencia. Current tickets start at around $730 per person.

June 19 - Brazil vs Haiti (Group Stage)

The 2nd game at Lincoln Financial Field (AKA the Linc) will feature 5 time World Cup winners Brazil and Haiti who have made the World Cup for their 2nd time in history. On Matchday 9, these 2 will clash at 8:30pm EST on a Friday. Brazil's entire squad is notable but the must see players include Vinicius Jr, Endrick, Raphinha, Casemiro, and more. Haiti's notable players include Duke Lacroix, Wilson Isidor, and Philadelphia Union native, Danley Jean Jacques. Current ticket prices are at $850.

June 22 - France vs Iraq (Group Stage)

The World Cup favorites to win will be playing in Philadelphia at 5pm EST on a Monday(Matchday 12). Iraq qualified for their 2nd ever World Cup as well. France's entire squad is notable as well with players like Mbappe, Olise, Cherki, and Dembele. Iraq's squad will include Aymen Hussien and Youssef Amin. Tickets are currently circulating around $500.

June 25 - Curacao vs Côte d'Ivoire (Group Stage)

Curacao have made the World Cup for the first time in their history and they'll be facing Ivory Coast who will be playing in Philadelphia for the 2nd time. The game will be on Matchday 15 at 4pm EST on a Thursday. I have already stated Ivory Coast's notable players but Curacao's players include Tahith Chong and Leandro Bacuna. This game features some of the cheapest tickets as they currently sit at $230.

June 27 - Croatia vs Ghana (Group Stage)

The final game of the group stage in Philadelphia will feature big dogs, Croatia, and Ghana. This game will take place during Matchday 17 at 5pm EST on a Saturday. Croatia's players to look out for feature Modric, Perisic, Kramaric, and Livakovic. Ghana's players to look for include Semenyo, Inaki Williams, and Jordan Ayew. Tickets currently start at $630.

July 4 - W74 vs W77 (Round of 16)

This will be a knockout game so we won't know who will be playing it until days before. The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th and it was signed in the city of Philadelphia. It would be perfect if the US played on this very day but nevertheless, it will be a patriotic sight for the whole world to see. The game will be played at 5pm EST on a Saturday.

Additional Information

Ivory Coast will be setting their base camp at Subaru Park and the training grounds around it. This will be the only base camp in the state of Pennsylvania. In terms of transportation to get to the Linc, Philadelphia International Airport is only 11 minutes of a drive away. It will definitely be longer on game day with all the traffic though. Parking at Lincoln Financial Field will be sold separately with current prices starting at around $120.
